Ahhh... Fabric!

All of you know that I have been trying to explore new mediums. Still am. I got this way cool watercolor journal that I haven't even marked yet... I will... It's a little daunting to be new...
And then... I did an exchange with Bumblebeans... and she sent me this totally beautiful quiltie. If you enlarge the picture you will see a stitched bird and even words! AND it put fabric in my hands again... and... well, I've missed it. I've missed it a lot.
This piece has inspired me and sent me back into my comfort zone of fabric... but still wanting to learn new... my fingers are still saying No to hand-work. I have quilt tops to finish... maybe there is a new turn in the road.

Winter fun...

Since I can't wish Summer here, I may as well enjoy the snow...
Check out the hill behind me... doesn't look like much huh... then look to the left side of it and see the little dark dot. That's a snowmobile. Now look at the size of the hill in perspective to that snowmobile. It's really the mother-hill to climb! We were parked quite a ways away from it. I LOVE that HILL!!
Adrenilyn RUSH to the MAX!!
The above picture was the courage break.
(Had to drink a can of courage)
We had a great time on top of the world. Look at the endless places to play!

Here is another shot of THE hill, there is a snowmobile trying to climb it.
And below is how we cook our lunch - We strap a metal container to the muffler for about 1/2 hour of riding and get hot food.
That's all. Had fun!
Now... if summer would only get here.
I miss my motorcycle.

Two-Bit Street

This is Two-Bit Street (Historic 25th Street in Ogden).
This is where I will be taking some art classes starting this next week; I am going to do a basic drawing and then a watercolor class. I love the look of ink sketches with watercolor and have chosen that as my medium. I will of course share with you my progress and you can judge if there is any hope for a textile artist to get out of her fabric box.

My first goal is to learn how to draw a straight line - check out the light post above - it looks heavily abused by godzilla. :)
I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Valentine Tree

Yes, another tree.
I've always had a fascination for trees.
This one is an early Valentine tree.

I was tagged by a Cool Quilt Making Harley Riding Blogger to list six odd things about myself. I’m not really good at games, that's the first. I’m not much on words (as you can all tell by my short on words blog posts), that’s the second. And everything else is completely normal about me. Well, I can’t tell a lie, that’s the third. And I have a phone phobia; of course don’t own a cell phone, that’s number four. Fifty, er I mean five; I don’t care how old I am. And six, is I hope I can ride my Harley until I’m seventy.
Oh… I’m not tagging anyone, but if you want to play… please do!!!
P.S. I played this game in October 2006, but it was only 5 things then.
Here's the link to that time.
